Congratulations to Matt Leach, Assistant Information Technology Manager at Lower Umpqua Hospital District, for recently earning the Health Information Systems Certificate through University of Phoenix. This undergraduate program aids learners in bringing Information Technology skills to healthcare with focus on database concepts, information networking, system design, and project management of health information systems.
Matt is a United States Air Force veteran and was able to use his GI Bill benefits to complete his education. When asked what prompted him to go back to school, he stated, “In the past, I’ve worked as a consultant and later for a banking company after getting out of the military. This is my first job in healthcare, and I really just wanted to expand my knowledge in the healthcare sector.”
Matt has been a valued employee at Lower Umpqua Hospital for over seven years. “I’m extremely proud of Matt and his exceptional dedication to the district, says Kristi Kauffman, Director of Information Technology. “From day one, he’s gone above and beyond, delivering outstanding results. He has an unwavering commitment to excellence and consistently tackles challenges head-on with aplomb. I thank him for his hard work, dedication, for being a shining example, and for inspiring others to always do their best.”
